Where is the best place to buy investment property? India, Jamaica, Dubai, Morocco? How about close to where you live? If you're new to buying investment property you should stay close to home. Don't look overseas or in a different country when you're not yet comfortable buying property in your own country. You don't want a silly mistake or something that you've overlooked to cost you thousands of dollars in the time and trouble to take care of business out of the country. You don't even want to buy property outside of your state or out of the county in which you live if you don't have to.
If you are experienced and are interested in buying property to turn over quickly for profit you can think about buying overseas. But if you plan on keeping the property as a rental property, you don't want to be an absent landlord.
Why are you trying to buy the property? Are you interested in flipping it, doing some minor repairs and selling it quickly for profit, or are you going to rent it out and have a source of passive income? The best place to buy investment property is in a good, stable neighborhood that is close to several amenities. If you're going to rent it out, then you want to find a place close to the activities that your tenants are interested in. Most people don't want to drive a long distance to get to the grocery store. If you have tenants who don't have transportation being close to eating, shopping and public transportation is a plus.
Do some research on the neighborhood in which you're looking for a place to buy investment property. Visit it during different times of the week and different times of the day. You may be surprised at what you find. Take note if it's near an airfield, race track, stadium, anything that might drive potential tenants away. E
